Getting Started: Running an Example
Selecting an Example
Nominal Studio is shipped with several example scenarios that can be loaded in. These example files include spacecraft and ground stations configured to demonstrate particular aspects of the simulation. The examples include:
- Constellations
- Deployable Solar Panel Events
- Earth Observation Missions
- Ground Station Networks
- Heading Estimation Algorithms
- Orbit Raising Maneuvers
- Power Systems
- Telemetry and Data Downlink Networks
To open an example, click on the example icon in the top-left of the toolbar.
This will open up a list of example options, along with a basic description that can be selected. To run an example, press the Load Scenario
button under the example. This will load in the save file associated with that example and reset the current simulation.
Warning
Examples are entirely new simulations and cannot be appended to existing ones. When an example is loaded, the previous simulation will be deleted. Please make sure to save any work.
Examples can be edited, played and saved. However, any changes made to the examples will require a new save location as the examples are read-only files and will not be overridden. To make a copy of an example file, press the save icon and save the file to a new location.
