FAQ: Licenses

❓ Can I redistribute the Nominal software?

All Nominal software come with a required authentication system. With the exception of the Nominal API, each license purchased from Nominal Systems enables only one device to have access to the applications. As such, redistribution of the software is not allowed as the licenses must be purchased from Nominal Systems.

❓ How can I access a free trial?

Nominal Editor and Nominal Studio offer separate 14-day free trials for the software. The trials start once the license is activated and this can be done from the Nominal Systems webpage. A free account must be made on the Nominal Systems website before accessing the software and activating the trial. Trial software works across versions. However, once the 14-day trial is up, the software will no longer be accessible. Please contact Nominal Systems for more information if you would like to request an extension of the trial.

❓ How do I change my licensed device?

Each Nominal license, associated with a Nominal Editor or Nominal Studio account, can be added to only one device. To release the license from the device, visit your account page from the website and click Sign Out from all Devices. This will reset the device registered. However, it will require logging into a new device. Older devices can still be registered but only one device can be registered at any one time.

❓ How do I get access to the Nominal API?

Currently, the Nominal API is in a closed development cycle. Access to the API is available to specific customers. We are still in the development stage and working on ensuring full feature parity between the standalone software suite and the API. To get early access to the API and or to purchase an API key, please contact Nominal Systems.
