Getting Started: Installing Studio
Unboxing Studio
Nominal Studio will, in most cases, be installed from the Nominal Systems website from the user account portal. There, it is possible to access the most up-to-date version of Studio. Currently, Nominal Studio is only available on devices running Windows 10 or Windows 11. When downloaded, the version of Studio must be unzipped. This can be performed using the standard Windows Extract All
option when right-clicking on the folder.
Warning
Depending on the location that is being unzipped to, there may be an issue with the pathing of some files when unzipping. If a warning comes up, simply skip that file. In some cases, these files are not critical to the performance of Studio. If the issue persists, attempt to unzip the folder from a root folder and then move the unzipped files to the specified location.
Nominal Studio, once unzipped, will look like the following. Only the NominalStudio.exe
file is required to be opened here. No other files are needed to be accessed by the user.
Launching Nominal Studio
Opening Studio for the first time may take a bit of time to compile shaders and objects. Ensure that the application does not quit while performing this process. When the application loads, log in using the credentials associated with the Nominal Systems account used to access the software from the website.
Note
Nominal’s authentication system requires Internet access when launching Nominal Studio. The authentication will also be required each day but the credentials will be stored between sessions.
Once the application loads, a starting screen will be present showing off Nominal Studio and the windows available within the application.
