Cesium: Connecting a Cesium Account
Creating an Account
All accounts and tokens must be handled on the Cesium web server. An account must be created on the Cesium Ion site. Nominal Systems is not responsible for account creation and this must be done by the user if they wish to integrate Cesium with Nominal Editor. A free account can be created in the login portal below.
Cesium: The Platform for 3D Geospatial
Once logged in, the Cesium Ion portal should look like the following:
Creating a Token
To include data from Cesium within Editor, access tokens are required. An access token can be created on the Cesium portal and these tokens are not commercially free. It is the user’s requirement to fund these tokens and the data the token is associated with is up to the user. Nominal Systems is not responsible for creating or using these tokens and they are a user-specific control. For a simple test token, only the assets: read and geocode properties are required.
Connecting the Token
Returning back to Nominal Editor, if Cesium has been installed as a plugin, there should be a Cesium plugin button in the toolbar of the Unreal Engine inside of the project.
This will open up a Cesium portal. The window will allow for logging into Cesium with an account, which is useful for managing and creating new tokens with the Cesium Ion server. Enter the access token that was created into the token specification.
Warning
Tokens are not managed by Nominal Systems. Access tokens may result in invalid data if incorrect tokens are used or if the user’s Cesium account is not configured properly.
